1a) The rubber stopper will pop out.  Air in the flask expanded when heated and push the rubber stopper out.

1b) The cork stopper will pop out.  Carbon dioxide in the drink gained heat and expanded when heated and push the cork stopper out.

2a) Container A gains more heat as it has a larger contact area with the hot plate.

2b) Yes, adding water will increase the contact area between ice water and bottles, thus the bottles can lose more heat to the ice and be colder faster.

3a) The flask expanded first when heated and thus the ink drop a little.  The air in the flask expanded next and pushed the ink drop up.

3b) Air in the lantern gains heat and expands.  This hot air rises and pushes the lantern up.

4a) The box reflected light from the lamp into the girl’s eyes.
